Rivermark Wikipedia
Rivermark of Santa Clara is a master planned community
in Santa Clara, California built on a 152-acre (0.62 km2) parcel formerly used by Agnews Developmental Center
and owned by the State of California. The new community comprises retail space, parks, a new elementary
school, apartments, condominiums, townhouses, and houses (detached single family homes). The Rivermark area
is known for being an upscale neighborhood, with many young professionals and families as
residents.
The Rivermark "area" is loosely defined as the area
between Montague Expressway, Lafayette St., Hope Dr., and the Guadalupe River. However, the official
Rivermark of Santa Clara development is better defined as a sum of the parts, such as the Rivermark retail
center, and the housing developments including The Arbors by Centex, The Park by Centex, The Promenade by
Lennar, The Greens by Lennar, The Landings by Shea, and The Glen by Shea. Developments not included in the
Rivermark of Santa Clara development, but included in the loosely defined area above include Mission Gardens,
Miraval, and 550 Moreland.
History
In 1998 the Agnews Developmental Center closed its west
campus, on which site Rivermark was later developed.
In September, 2000 the City of Santa Clara approved the
Rivermark developers’ house plans.
In 2002 three builders started building new house and
housing developments on land directly bordering the Guadalupe River in Santa Clara,
California.
Rivermark Master Plan Development within the City of
Santa Clara is bounded by Montague, Lickmill, Hope and Agnew . There is no Core Rivermark and Contextual
Rivermark legally.
